We had breakfast at the lovely hotel restaurant that served us really well last night. We met a few very interesting people and the conversation flowed nicely and I learnt a lot about Central America from Kimi. She had just completed a six day meditation retreat. Before flying back to California. Yoga and meditation retreats and sessions seem to be a big thing in Costa Rica, there are signs everywhere offering these types of services. We also met Ed from South Africa. He was a pilot and had his own charter company. His main clients are involved in geology. He had a plane in for service in Switzerland and even before they had completed the work the bill was over one million dollars, so his company must turn over a hell of a lot! We got chatting about politics and the headlines and Ed confirmed that Musk and Trump are speaking fake news about the possibility of a genocide. Who would have thought those two could possibly know what they are talking about!

The sea looks like it is in the distance but it’s because it is a bay. We were surprised that it was just a three minute walk around the corner and you came to a stunning beach!

We rode on a little further as we are having an easy day today and we came to Samara. As we were going past the hotel we thought we could see if we could check in early. We struck lucky both with the check in and the wonderful hotel.

We got Moose parked up and went down to this beach which is mighty fine!

The opposite end to our hotel is the town so we walked along the beach and found a gorgeous beach front hotel for our daily intake of smoothies and a spot of lunch.

After lunch we walked into town. It is not too big and tourism is at a nice level, as you can see from the images we have not come across a busy beach yet. They have been perfect. I bought some swimming shorts as they would be quicker to dry than the cycling shorts I have been using.
We walked back to the beach seating of the hotel bar and enjoyed a bit of swimming, sleeping and reading.

Horses are a big thing here and there are many excursions you can take in the forests or the beach on horseback.

When we were getting back to the hotel we came across a chihuahua puppy and it was adorable.

The sea is warmer than some hot springs we have been in. Surfing is massive, the last time I saw this much surfing I was in Santa Cruz. So tomorrow we are going to hire some boards and give it ago. Every other building has boards for hire. It is a shame my GoPro does not work anymore from being spending the night submerged under the waterfall a few weeks ago now as we would have got some great images.
We got back to the accommodation to get ready for our evening meal. We decided to use Moose to ride into town. On the way we saw a lovely sunset with pinks and purples.

The food was amazing. I need to cancel one meal a day as I have got that feeling of being constantly full, I don’t like feeling that way!
But it was too good…. And anyone that knows me, knows that I think wasting food is not acceptable. So clean plates all round.
